Withering Petals Poem by Aftab Yusuf Shaikh

Withering Petals

The autumn of mistrust
Is here,
Things aren’t the same way
As they were,

For me, your eyes shine no more,
My heart dances not
On hearing you,

The glow of your face has dimmed,
The luster of your smile has faded,
Your laughter has lost symphony,
Your tears appear fake, shaded,

I never knew this love was
So fragile,
So fickle,
The lily of your remembrance
Is withering
Petal by petal.
