Within And Without Poem by Mystic Qalandar

Within And Without

The search for Truth is this:
Within—He alone.
Without—He alone.

His voice resounds in the heartbeat,
His echo hums through every grain of dust.
The First Word—sound of eternity—
still flows on,
never severed from the fountain of Being.
Can the river of life be dammed?

He appears in countless mirrors of form,
yet breaks every shape—
light of all lights,
timeless flame of earth and sky.

All that is—
horizon and soul alike—
are His signs, His reflections.
The outer universe—a shadow of the inner,
and man, the little cosmos,
holds the vast cosmos distilled within.

There too burn suns and stars,
there too pass the caravans of day and night,
there too arrive the seasons of the heart.
The inner light—knowledge and wisdom.
The inner dark—forgetfulness and blindness.
Consciousness, the lamp;
unconsciousness, its shade.

Creator, Sustainer, Destroyer—
not three, but One radiance.
Infinite outpouring of His attributes,
throbbing in each heart.
Creation, subsistence, dissolution—
all whirl in His dance.

Man—the vessel of mystery,
the heart—a scripture of heaven,
the pen—its tongue.
Revelation always descends first
upon the heart.

The soul—man's essence—
is of His Command.
Command and Commander—
drop and ocean—
distinct, yet never apart.

He begets not, nor is begotten.
No parents, no offspring.
Circles of time—birthless, endless—
dissolve in His presence.

MyKoul beheld:
One alone—none beside.
All but Allah is illusion.

He, the One, the Eternal Refuge.
Within—He.
Without—He.
No god but He.
No being but He.
