Witness

We who have witnessed your coming witnessed your abrupt leaving.
Why leave us in the eventide, when everything is ripe for the reaping?

You said you are weary with all the cares of the world better to snuff the flicker.
Why be worn-out with a thousand and one cares, when you have our laughter?

You said you have already accomplished your life’s mission so better sleep forever.
Why sleep, when we run hither and thither trying to stem the tide of powerlessness
of the people you left behind?
