Woman At Night Poem by Enver Hamit

Woman At Night

Rating: 2.5

Taking off the day on her
She loosened her hair and herself:
Entirely under the care of night
Entirely in the arms of night
Tight as night
Perfect as night
Smooth as night and
Plump as night she was…

Soft and merciful hands of night
have caressed my red-hot skull:
My brain that stirring as countless insects
The dunes that getting larger in my mind
My life that I can't hold tight with my hand
My body that refused to be a dress for my life
The bottomless eyes of the night
The words of the night that hard to write down
The time that breathing heavily
The crazy gravity of the earth
The apples of Newton
The first and second world wars
The atomic bombs that exploded in my homeland…
These are all locked in a tight embrace
at night, both in my reality and thoughts…
