Wondering About You Poem by Louise Marie DelSanto

Wondering About You

Rating: 5.0

If I won the next lottery
only playing random numbers,
or stumbled on a wallet of money,
I am sure you would love that

But here I am, writing love
poetry from a few thoughts
seven paragraphs to be exact,
wondering about you

It is a selfish thought, I admit
But even our night dreams
are intentional thoughts
and freudian slips

Lying side by side, a man
and woman naked, a kind
Of ecstasy stirring until
the first person leaves the bed

A fantasy of you, the wind
softly through my yard chimes,
and the last rays of sunlight
one more minute a day

I wish I could write about an
adventure such as sailing, a career
filling orders for kings,
or arranging a party for the President

But instead, I am sitting here
as if it were my last day on earth, me,
in my work day attire, all sweaty and
humble, wondering about you.

A lovely write about a wonderfully common experience. Love hits you at the oddest of times, no?
