Words Poem by David Duease

Words

Words can touch you deep inside,
Some can hurt and some can heal.
At times it's hard to tell
What's a lie, or what is real.

Words can have true meaning,
But sometimes none at all.
They can lift your spirits up,
Or head you for a fall.

Some words sound so soft and sweet,
As if they're heaven sent.
And some words can be taken wrong,
When that's not how they were meant.

Words can cause the wars
That fill the world with strife.
And words can tell a story,
Or bring a song to life.

They say that can't hurt you,
But we know that that's not true.
Words can cut you deep inside,
And leave you sad and blue.

Some words make you happy,
And some words make you sad.
Make your heart feel heavy,
Or sometimes make you mad.

But words are just words,
Whatever language you speak.
The word is mightier than the sword,
For the strong, and for the meek.

wish our words were nice as dew, shining bright with every hue, Laughter and smile would be their reign, not giving someone so much pain
