You caught me with your words
with delight, I fell in love with your mind.
There was love, it was love,
but only when it wasn’t identified.
We were poetically romanced
but we looked away as we silently lied.
Two fools of denial and silence we were,
too busy being painters of a different picture.
Finally when love was let out in the open,
you were gone before anything could happen.
I still thank you though my heart is broken,
words are still words; but your silence has spoken.
