Words Can Kill

Words can kill

he ran the sixty- meter run
he got a bronze
proud he was

someone said bronze
is nothing
a medal handed out to everyone

he put the medal
in his pocket, a mark of shame
later, he threw the bronze into the lake

those who thrives
belittling others
are the same ones who never dared
