Would You? Poem by Elizabeth Muller

Would You?

If I told you there were butterflies living in my stomach, would you believe me?

Because there are butterflies inside of me and they flutter furiously when I see you, talk to you, think about you…us. They, just like me, don't know what to do when you're near.

If I said that I would do almost anything for you already, would you question me?

Because I would go to the ends of the earth to be with you. Find any means of transportation to get to you. There are planes, trains, and cars. I'd walk if I had to.

If I let you know that nothing has made me this happy in a long time, would you doubt me?

Because it's true. You are the cause of most of my smiles these days. You are what makes my heart tick ten times faster than it's normal rate.

If I asked you to run away with me and be mine forever, would you hesitate to leave with me?

Because that's what I wish I could do with you right now. Forget reality and hit the road. Kidnap you and keep you for my own…that's what I would do.
