Wounded Stranger Poem by Charmaine Gundran

Wounded Stranger

Rating: 4.3

I saw a creature deeply wounded...
I tried to help...

I healed it's wounds...
I made sure it will be cured...

When it woke up...
I saw the beauty in its eyes...

I fell in love...

I was so happy that it was there...
We promised it will never end...

We shared each other's secrets...
We shared each other's pain and happiness..
We shared each other's thoughts...
We shared each other's coats in the cold...

Until one day it was completely healed...
I realized I had to set it free...

It never wanted to leave me...
But I know my place is never where it wanted to be...
I forced it to leave...

I thought it will force it to stay...
I thought it will miss me someday...

But it never came back...

But it never saw me in its dreams...

I tried to look for this creature...
I know I made a wrong gesture...

I found it resting somewhere far...
And it doesn't wanna come back...

After I healed all the wounds...
After I covered all the pain...

I had to leave and cry...
I had to be strong and fly...

Maybe one day it will be wounded again...
It might fall again...
I cannot wait for that to happen...
Because I will be waiting until my end.
