You roused in me
such dreadful wrath,
such fury that has scarcely died,
though you have long been laid to rest
and less men now would take your side.
But all the damage that you did
still festers and corrupts mankind.
All who taught your brutal creed
have made our system more unkind.
Self-reliance was the code
that underpinned your brutal law,
the harsh regime that serves to keep
this jungle red in tooth and claw.
As I survey this unjust world,
the poverty that kills and maims,
the hopeless hordes, exploited by
those monsters who revere your name,
when I perceive the price we pay,
the wrath inspired can never rest.
Foul Thatcher and your think-alikes
sustained the savage in our breast.
