Yeah Right, they say, as I stand tall
A widow, alone, with no one to call
But I have my wine, from the twisted vine
Of Liberty, it's my escape, my lifeline
I am the highest, from gravity's pull
My grief and sorrow, they cannot rule
For I am strong, stronger than I seem
A delicate flower, but not so easily seen
I stand on tip tip tippy toes
Reaching for happiness, wherever it goes
For it can be hard to find, in this world of pain
But I won't give up, I'll dance in the rain
I am the shadow, as I shade the grass
A neutral darkening hue, as I pass
Tanning the life out of view
But it's just a facade, what I want you to view
For deep inside, I am still broken
My heart shattered, words left unspoken
But I put on a smile, for the world to see
For they don't need to know, the real me
And in the midst of all this pain
You came along, like a gentle rain
Offering me happiness, a glimmer of light
But the price to sell my soul, just doesn't feel right
Yeah Right, I think to myself
To sell my soul, for love and wealth
It's tempting, I won't lie
But I won't give up, I'll still try
For I am strong, I've survived so much
I won't let anyone, steal my touch
My soul is mine, it's not for sale
I won't let anyone, make me fail
Yeah Right, the thought lingers on
As I sip my wine, and sing my song
The twisted vine of Liberty, it's all I need
To numb the pain, and let my heart bleed
But then I look at you, with your kind eyes
And I realize, it's not just lies
You offer me more, than just a fleeting escape
A love that's real, not just a heart-shaped tape
And I think, maybe it's worth the risk
To let my guard down, and let you in, brisk
For happiness is not a guarantee
But with you by my side, I feel free
Yeah Right, it may seem too good to be true
But with you, I know, it's what I have to do
To let go of my fears, and take a chance
To find happiness, and a new romance
So I'll leave the shadows, and step into the light
With you by my side, it just feels right
I won't sell my soul, but I'll give you my heart
For you have shown me, a brand new start
Yeah Right, it's not just a fantasy
With you, it's a reality
I am no longer just a widow, alone
With you, I have a home
So let's raise a glass, to this twisted vine
Of Liberty, where our hearts intertwine
And as we sip our wine, I'll say it again
Yeah Right, sounds nice, but with you, I'll gladly say 'Amen'.
