Year End Poem by bob barci

Year End

I don’t mind
sitting on the porch
on this, the last day of the year.
There are no resolutions this year
as they don’t do any good.
Besides, I always forget mine
before I can hold them to their word.
This year has me hoping
the new year brings me many pleasurable surprises.
Looking back
at this year, that ends at midnight,
I can only say - it wasn’t so bad.
I few improvements could be made here and there -
but hey - who’s complaining?
I look forward to midnight
as it marks the year end
and the start of a new chapter of life.
