Yellow Boots Poem by Berrisford Elliott

Yellow Boots

I saw someone wearing yellow boots
Like steps
Of drops
Of sunlight.
I followed those steps
The tracks in the sand
While the oceans' hymn washed them away.
Never worry the waves with yellow boots
They stand well the tide.
And the one that wears them knows her mind
From her there's no need to hide.

When the sun and the sky
And the salt and the wind all mingle together with tears,
You breathe it in and smile at the thought
As yellow boots echo the sun.
