Yet I Will Treasure The Lights Poem by Iris Mista

Yet I Will Treasure The Lights

I cry a million tears
for no one to care and to see
in loneliness forever I'll be

Yet I will treasure the lights
this very heart once saw
to cover the pain so deeply raw

In emptiness I will die
for I was born that way
unloved and not treasured I'll stay

But it can not take away
snippets of life been there
unseen, no longer to share

It will be with me forever
it can not be taken from me
no matter if I am or can not be

Words like dust, yet mine
shared to be on my own
treasured now I am alone

Not to be understood or seen
for no one ever will
my life, in emptiness to fulfill

I know forever I'll lose
my heart crumbles for all pain
for those who live and die the same

I will let these words flow
as my heart will live on
even after all is gone

To be missed forever
and always stay true
all I've shared with you
