You And I Poem by Pat Kunisch

You And I

Far apart we are
You and I
Thru time and circumstance
Difficult to measure
Our voices touch
With patient pleasure
Shining on joy from
Distant memories
Across the miles

Remember the moments
Of our first meeting
The pain and relevance
Of our being
Standing against a hopeless quandary
That challenged our believing
You and I joined hands
And found our purpose
Through romance

With deep affection
We spent our time
You and I
The throbbing of
Our beating hearts
Refusing to relinquish
The separate parts
Of our experience
Throughout our lives
Holding on to lessons learned
Evaluating all those concerned
Who shaped our minds

Over here
In a lonely place
I sit and wait
To feel your face
Anxious to savor
Your sweet embrace
Dreaming of days
And nights together
You and I
Hearts joined forever

This was simply amazing. We all have those days when we miss someone that is far apart from us in body, but never in soul
