You Are Angry At Me Poem by mark glaser

You Are Angry At Me

You are angry anyone can see,
It’s directed me.
There should be a you and me.

We spoke of how fate intervened,
Both of us together as the angles’ sing.

I’m not angry nor should I be,
I’m numb, dazed, and confused,
About you me.

Our start was so good,
We both understood.

You like your independence and freedom too,
Won’t be controlled there’s been too much of that,
Just judge me as I am I’ll give what I can,
But falling in love is controlling in itself.
Get to close and you’re out.

What did we want when we started?
Where did that go it was lost before long?

You pushed me away as I got closer,
Was it uncomfortable being loved so much?
You couldn’t believe it,
He’s not for real.
I’ll show you he’s like all the other typical man,
No he can’t stand.
What you needed was putting me away on an emotional island.

Set me up for a test that was constructed in one way,
That failure was the way it would be.
Failed my subject before the Final was in,
Leave school right now there is no other chance for you.

Blame me, dash me, make me the looser,
What is left is what was where before we met,
But more carcasses piled up.

Once again to wonder,
Another man who acted like a can,
It happened again, it will happened another,
It’s hard to pass the thunder.

I’ll try again to find a the perfect man,
They pass as fast as he can.

We’re not perfect you nor I,
I can’t mind read to know what to do,
I simply can’t face the world without you.

You may go on knowing he’s no good,
Just saying I love you is not enough,
He’s got to proof his stuff.

Sometimes men do the best that they can,
Loving him with foibles doesn’t balance against,
The qualities you desire, he can’t be hired.

Better I couldn’t do no matter how hard I tried,
I tried the best I knew how,
Lying beside you kissing you as I could,
Holding hands as I should.

You got the best I could give you there was no more,
I poured out of my soul.

There shouldn’t be any sorry(s) it’s not necessary you see,
I tried my best for you and me.
