This is no time to laugh and play
I know that soon will come the day
When we shall part each other’s lives
When sleep shall turn my day to night
As I rest still upon my bed
With holy oils anoint my head
Thus my soul departs this world

As you stare at my body so calm it lies
And evening shadows have filled the skies
Bring not thyself to weep and cry
