You Are Who You Are Poem by Hebert Logerie

You Are Who You Are

Take a mirror, look at your face
Please, no smile; no grimace
You are whom you see
You are who you are
It makes no sense to go to war
Because you do not like the beauty
Which is staring at you
Like the monster of the dew.

Look at your eyes
They are like two apple pies
Look at your nose
Take a brief pause
Look at your mouth
The bottom lip goes south
Look at your lips
They have no tips
You know what I mean
Please, I am not mean.

You are who you are
You will remain in my memoir
A natural and beautiful star
You are who you are
God gave you that look
Once you change it with a fork
With a knife or with scissors
Just wait for major disasters
To happen tomorrow
At the dawn of sorrow.

You are who you are
You are naturally wonderful
You are who you are
You were born beautiful
The sky will never change
The image may become strange
Under the glaring light of time
Upon reaching your prime
You will forever remain the same
Creature; maybe that's a darn shame.

You are who you are.
