You Call Me A Fool Poem by Seph Dent

You Call Me A Fool

You call me a fool
Because I don't submit to your rule
But I ignore your insults

I know you've all made a mistake
And that I'm the only one awake
Just take a look at the results

But you lock me away
And ignore what I have to say
You think there's something wrong with my brain

Though my mind is perfectly reliable
The the things I say are justifiable
You're the ones who are insane

You talk about weather
And which dress looks better
All wondering what is the norm

Because everyone is rejected
If the slightest difference is detected
So you all try to conform

Gaining acceptance and possessions
Your only two obsessions
But that's the worst thing you can do

Look towards other ways
For the remainder of your days
Or you unhappiness will continue

I talk about reality
The truth about humanity
But what's real: You don't care

You accept these outlandish lies
And ignore what's right in front of your eyes
You willingly live in despair

My thoughts are not like yours
All I see are you flaws
There's nothing I can do at this stage

But while you imprison me
My spirit has arisen free
I'll be happy locked away, alone in my cage
