You Complete Me Poem by Mary Champion

You Complete Me

I've thought so long about it,
trying hard to understand
the thrill that travels through me
any time I touch your hand.
We've nothing much in common,
people think we're worlds apart,
but Baby, there's a reason
why you've come to win my heart.
You're everything I'm lacking,
that lost fragment of my soul.
Sweet darling you complete me.
Only you can make me whole.

According to the rule books
our love doesn't stand a chance,
with four left feet between us
can we ever learn to dance?
We ought to go our separate ways
cos chalk and cheese don't mix.
So why is it that when we touch
the magic somehow clicks?

We're more like oil and water
when you calm my stormy heart,
yet I still leave you floating free
and we're real hard to part.
You're everything I'm lacking,
that lost fragment of my soul.
Oh Baby you complete me.
Only you can make me whole.
