You Inspired My Love Of Jazz - Poem by Percy Flage

Did you know
That, for years,
You were my biggest regret?

I felt so bad about what I did.
So fucking terrible.
For the longest time,
I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry.

And then,
When you finally spoke to me,
I didn't say a thing.
Well, I'm sorry.

I don't think,
That you will ever
Be able to fully forgive me;
I probably wouldn't be able to,
Had the tables been turned.

I tried falling into a hole
That was not my hole to fall in,
And when I did,
I scraped my knee.

My knees have been damaged,
From both before and after
That hole.
The scars will never fade.
At least not all completely.

Hey Chase, I like this poem, it shows personality, experience. It reminds me of past regrets, something that we will never be able to change, and any poem that creates emotion has got to be good :) (Report) Reply
