You Will Be This Poem by Jay Mandeville

You Will Be This

You will be this - the most dangerous cause
The essence that rises above human loss
You'll be the one who will never permit
The arguments carved out of hate to persist
You'll be the source toward which all martyrs urge us
Unknown & submerged, without breaking the surface

Slowly, so slow, will your plans reach fruition
Despite every effort you'll make to resist them
You'll be the vocable, you'll be the sign
That makes all love visible, sings the divine
Yes, you will be this - the most urgent belief
The presence who vows to assuage human grief
