Young Love Poem by Justin Gildow

Young Love

A teenage boy sits by the fountain
A teenage girl is sitting in the shadows
They don't know it
But young love is near
Young love is in bloom

The teenage boy looks hopeful
The teenage girl looks sad
But they make eye contact

The teenage boy walks over to the teenage girl
With nothing keeping him tied down to the world
And he speaks to her for a few minutes

They talk about their lives and what's happening now
And how lonely they both are
But they pledge to faithful to one another
And perhaps brighten each other's lives
With him helping her, and her helping him

As the night arrives
They leave together
Holding hands

Young love has been born for the two lonely teens
And from my watchful eyes
It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
