Your Bruised Ego Poem by Abby Kimball

Your Bruised Ego

I didn’t ask for much
Did I,
I don’t need too much,
Do I,

And I,
I can’t help but feel,
You pushing your ego,
Pressing hard against my breast,
Trapped in this love I gave you,
Hidden deep inside your chest,

This is all for you

And I,
I can’t help but see,
The lingering datum,
That you never could see me,
You taught me what I never knew,
Ones eyes could be so cruel,

This was all for you,
Every part,
Every moment,
Closer to the truth,
