Your Memory Poem by Des Agos

Your Memory

You are now in peace, I know that you're gone

I'm tired I was afraid to fall asleep
to mix your absence
with my sleep.

I look in the dark night
far beyond the lights on the hill
I seem clouded stars.

The memory of you
I confuses the mind
alone and shut up in bed
cried the child comforts me

Trembling fatigue takes me
abandoning, appear to me,
your beauty ever
