Your Only Friend Poem by Albert Ahearn

Your Only Friend

Rating: 5.0

Difficult time again for you;
no safe haven for you to go?
Where are your friends you call true-blue?
Some friends! You can search high and low
and I'll bet dollars to doughnuts
not a single one will be found.
Isn't that usual conduct
of dime-a-dozens' that abound
when things remain hunky-dory
but disappear when things get tough?
It's my same old commentary
quite often repeated enough:
the only friend you have is me
through thick and thin times, ma chérie.
