Your Time Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Your Time

Rating: 5.0

Under tiny scraps of judgment
Lies doors which leads in opposite directions
Choose imprudently and suffer the consequences
Instant gratification and long term pain
For the roads seemingly paved
By the misguided footsteps of many suffering generations
Yields barely an insignificant amount of gold dust
Yet lifetimes of heartbreaks and frustrations
Blinded by the bright lights of success
And the peripheral benefits fool’s desire
Resolved to test the darkened waters of chance
Where the risk far out weigh the meager gains
Gains quickly bartered for material wealth
Material wealth that rapidly and steadily deteriorate in value
Values ingrained from childhood tossed aside like refuse
Refuse recycled into death, incarceration, and comprehensive mourning
The urgency and hopelessness that inspires desperation
Subsequently also leads to the doors of righteousness and sophistication
Choose recklessly and suffer the consequences
A life time of heartbreaks, frustrations, and pain
