You're A Star Poem by William Deutscher

You're A Star

You're a star,
bright little universe.
Pinprick of humanity,
for better or for worse.

You're a star,
glittering coquette.
Squeezing tight release,
out for what you get.

You're a star
by my design.
Sparkling night,
in your own loud time.

I think we both agree
you shine resplendently,
reflecting puffed-up dreams,
that only you and I can see.

You're a star,
blazing white.
No greater love,
all self delight.
