Miss You Dad! !

The memory is still crisp and sharp,
I suddenly woke up when the phone rang.

It was 4 in the morning, world was sleeping,
I had no idea, your soul was leaving.

When the phone rang, I knew I suffered a loss,
But I was unaware that my father was gone.

The worst I could imagine was you on a hospital bed,
I hope I would get to do a last chit chat.

But you had already lost the battle, without much struggle.
And I was left there with my thought to mumble,

Should I thank the universe for taking you away without much pain?
Or cry for your unspoken words that were disdain?

I wanted to tell you dad,
That even your bleeding finger could to make my eyes swell,
Or how the news of your broken foot made me wail?

Now you have gone, I can only repent
I have realised without a father what life meant.
