Shruti Sinha Poems

Raining it is again
Splattering tears on my palm
Memories I couldn't refrain
Penetrates all the false calm

Reminiscing days, before I met you
A sketchy soul; hesitant and naive
So little then I knew
Terrified from a deeper dive

Remembrance Pouring Down

Raining it is again
Splattering tears on my palm
Memories I couldn't refrain
Penetrates all the false calm

On my window casts a misty haze
Beneath which nostalgia loom
Wiping away the moist glaze
Reached out to the gloom

Distant smell of the monsoon air
Close I did my eyes
Warm fingers soothing my hair
Faded in the dripping sunrise

And remember the cheery yellow hue
Under which walk we did
As the storm winds blew
Away the secrets we hid

And soon every wall fell apart
In the uncertainty of an alley
The passion poured out our heart
Everything we had longed to say

Time and again did we touch
That promised a new hope to try
Didn't leave behind much
Apart from a rueful sigh

Distant smell of the monsoon air
Close I did my eyes
Some things we never share
A scar that still cries

And now that I open my eyes
Rises again a rainy dawn
I smile at the lies
The yellow umbrella is gone

Raining it is again
Seeping cold through my shirt
As if probing a silent pain
Bleeding from a hollow heart
