Stephen Thomas Poems

Slouched across this rusty rail
Watching water collide.
Chaos caught churning
The sound of war -
...

Oh I still feel the cord wrapped around my side
And though I push it away, I know
It can’t be denied
As I passed, and your hand was thrust into mine
...

Make it simple, sweet
A collision of thoughts
No common pattern
One word, or two
...

The cold sudden tap of a perfect finger
Gathered round my back
I turned like fall to winter
And fell like snow to the sensation of your being
...

If you ask then I will say
I'd like to stay in bed today,
And for once succumb to sleep
To dream of lands so far away.
...

Poetry walks;
Bright colors complimenting
The cool shades that fall into place
Above long lashes
...

And if you’d see it fit
To give me a chance to compose
A short subtle verse
A tree of life, perhaps
...

“Fairly odd; the lives we live”
She said
And I’d reply
“I’ll scream to that”
...

Fairwell faith, security
Fairwell living legacy
Fallacy and anarchy
Divorce the truth,
...

Clock strikes three
(What happens at three?)
No morphing
No monsters
...

When the sun meets the land
And all things turn gold,
Then, will I smile -
Will I attempt to turn
...

The sky turns hollow,
And mountains to ash.
Time spent exploring human boundaries
Turns beauty to chaos,
...

14.

A tear runs along the lines of her life
Distaste drips
Mingling with makeup
A thin veneer to protect her eyes
...

Plastic life seeps down my throat
A melted mess
A call to cool and mold
And I can’t breath
...

Man-Made Disaster

Slouched across this rusty rail
Watching water collide.
Chaos caught churning
The sound of war -
Rhythmic beats
Pounding out unfathomed notes:

Fish disrupted
Falling six feet down.
Washed away from hope
By two slopes;
Solid concrete.
In a panicked state
They throw themselves
Through the air
Trying to regain ground

They fail.
Gathering their strength,
They try once more
Only to fall short – again.
Crushing water
Consumes them
As they try to conquer
This Man-Made disaster;
Beaten bloody
By sandpaper waves
And falling rock.
