Harambe, he enjoyed his life,
had nothing much to do.
He sat around and ate all day
in the Cincinnati Zoo.
...
I am just a person
with the worst luck of all.
Now I'm going to take the time
and do some recall.
...
Give me a glass of real milk;
never mind that stuff called 'silk'.
I need the kind, tried and true;
...
Father Winter is departing;
Princess Spring is coming forth.
She's arriving from the south,
while he is going north.
...
There once was a boxer named Joe;
the heat made him whimper with woe.
His paw with one stroke
the ice bag he broke,
...
Boredom inclines to make me yawn
and shut my mind till it is gone.
Into its maw I won't be drawn.
I use my brawn! I use my brawn!
...
With mane blowing in the wind,
the mustang raised his head,
scenting breezes to protect
the band of mares he led.
...
When that blazing sun shines down,
I seek the cooling shade
underneath the leafy bower
that the oak has made.
...
Ursus stands tall, a mighty bear,
his strength alone will make you stare.
His gleaming fangs at you he'll bare.
Oh, what a scare, oh what a scare.
...
I dream of seeing Egypt,
climbing tombs of stone,
amidst the wind that whipped,
and being all alone.
...
Nature just makes me laugh and sing;
it brings such joy to ev'rything;
a rush of sound as birds take wing.
I am a king! I am a king!
...
Red is autumn leaves a-turning,
like a fireplace that's burning.
Pink is rising, dawning sky;
...
Torn from his home in ancient Greece,
Romans made him into a slave.
Bound to oar in galley ship,
his freedom he did crave.
...
I have this anger down inside,
don't let it out because of pride.
What would have happened, I not tried?
I can't decide! I can't decide!
...
Night is a time of mystery,
so many strange things do we see,
the silhouette of blackened tree.
It does scare me! It does scare me!
...
Mankind justifies his zoos,
because it's all his fault
He's the one killed off the beasts;
this slaughter it must halt.
...
When life starts coming down on me,
I've only one escape.
I open up a bottle and
have a touch of grape.
...
With poison Ivy I did tangle,
it's on view from every angle.
Here I sit, head to foot all red;
I guess I should have stayed in bed.
...
Harambe
Harambe, he enjoyed his life,
had nothing much to do.
He sat around and ate all day
in the Cincinnati Zoo.
Born in Texas in ninety-nine,
to Ohio then he went.
He only lived there sixteen months,
before his life was spent.
He was a massive silver back,
largest gorillas known.
He led and supervised his troop
like a king upon a throne.
Was destined to become a dad
when he had grown some more.
Mara and Chewie were his girls;
both of them he did adore.
One day there was a little boy,
who tried to get quite near.
He fell into Harambe's cage
and the folks began to fear.
He tried to save the boy that day.
Confused with all the din,
perhaps he was somewhat too rough
and thought that the boy was kin.
That little boy was standing there
when they shot Harambe dead.
He knew not what was happening,
he was not feeling dread.
The moral of this sad, sad tale
is don't get in a cage,
neither man nor 'savage' beast,
you'll both feel mankind's rage.
