The Last Of The Gunfighters

I hide from the sun’s smile with my tipped hat,
Bats and I share the same nocturnal urge,
Purge nature’s happy feelings,
Kneeling to a Lord I don’t believe in,
Sin is my friend,
Pretend I don’t care for the end.

Heaven’s teardrops drip inside my mind,
Behind murky eyes are memories,
Enemies linger in the shadows,
Woes and agony echo life’s last breath,
Death runs in horror,
Slaughter runs in me like water.

I wished to walk with God and sing with Angels,
Hells where I dance alone with the Devil,
Kill the only job when born in the gutter,
Flutter your life for the chance,
Advance your life for fame,
Shame when no one knows your name.
