Born as the only child to Mr. Anathbandhu Chatterjee and Mrs. Jolly Chatterjee on the 15th of March 1982 Udayan has done his schooling from Don Bosco School, Liluah near Kolkata. His passions include painting, photograhy, numismatics, cooking, reading books and creative writing.
His dad, Late. Mr. Anathbandhu Chatterjee, was an ex IAS officer and Journalist and had been the Chief Sub Editor to the Amrita Bazaar Patrika, an Indian newspaper of historical importance. He was born on August 12th,1929 and made his journey to his heavenly abode on July 16th,2008. He was also a writer and had his essays and poems published in many newpapers and magazines. Udayan's mom is a homemaker.
Beginning his creative journey at a young age Udayan had his poems published in his annual college magazine and has received an honorary certificate appreciating his work at the annual poetry competition in 2002 at Ramakrishna Day Students' Home, a library sponsored by the Government. Besides English, Udayan also writes his poems in Bengali and Hindi.
