Bronze Star - 5,720 Points (20.01.1950 / Kolkata)

I lived with you, I sang with you
I danced, dined, spent nights with you.
We loved and fought but all along
We shared our pains and joys along.
In your absence I am so alone
Like an alien on earth -I am left alone.

The moment you're away from me
This known world turned unknown to me.
Nothing looks meaningful to me
Wildly I'm searching for peace.
In your absence I am so alone
Like an alien on earth - I am left alone.

As a vagrant I am wandering -
With an empty, hollow mind
I Just do fail to know why I still belong,
Nothing on earth can console me now -
This world now seems not my home.
In your absence I am so alone
Like an alien on earth =I am left alone.

The wound is so deep and wide -
It bleeds only, throughout day and night,
The innocent flowers, birds or a child even
Can't make me smile.
In your absence I am so alone
Like an alien on earth -I am left alone.

Love can make love can break
Lost out love is like a quake.
In your absence I am so alone
Like an alien on earth -I am left alone.

The feeling of loneliness can really kill..
Knowing that there are many people around, but not the one you loved,
The life doesn't seems worth living... (Report) Reply

Hello Amitava. This was a well written, but sad romantic poem, lots of colorful language and great imagery. Thanks for your recent review of my work. Loyd (Report) Reply

A stark portrait of the depths of loneliness once love is lost...full of raw heartache. (Report) Reply

.....I know the feeling, losing a loved one is the worst feeling in the world...just knowing you can never say I love you or give them a hug, kiss or show them you care any longer...really hurts more than anything...wish you find someone who can at least bring you some comfort...not to replace...but to comfort you with their words and bring you a smile...you penned the feeling so well... Got a feeling of emptiness when reading this poem. So bereft, - not even a child can make me smile - my heart goes out to you.
Have felt this way myself, it's difficult to come back, it takes so long to get through the feelings of loneliness and emptiness. It
seems to never end. Eventually, come around slowly, afraid of being hurt again. Wonderful expression of the pain of love gone
away. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn (Report) Reply

love is a very hard to describe. If can be good or it can be bad. the poet has given good images on the subject. (Report) Reply

Loneliness can be very painful at times. We have to force
ourselves out of hat situation and live again. There is a bright
light around the corner. Reach for it! Nicely written. (Report) Reply

When the loved one goes away or is separated, it is so natural that life turns suddenly colourless and bland.. But we have to find a way out! Your sense of loneliness and disorientation, movingly presented! (Report) Reply

It is so hard when your world has stopped. But you have to pick up the pieces. Beautiful words (Report) Reply

Go from me, summer friends, and tarry not:
I am no summer friend, but wintry cold,
A silly sheep benighted from the fold,
A sluggard with a thorn-choked garden plot.
