Big cockroach, Tiny cockroach
Fat cockroach, Slim cockroach
Black cockroach, Brown cockroach
Some funny, some panicked, some curious,
Some intelligent and smart too.
Jogging and walking in all direction.
It seemed that I am their guest in my house.
Made me run after them here and there.
They were playing hide and seek with me.
I brought pills to kill
Nothing got killed
I mixed killer powder in food and kept
But it grew fatter ever after munching it.
I brought the cockroach spray, to keep them away.
Cockroaches which escaped from My killer spray
Has more life than I thought
For I couldn't end the fate of cockroaches
Which came up with better fate than me.
My cockroaches
Were very powerful and strong willed
I think they learnt the breathing techniques too
After all they were too practicing yoga along with me.
I sprayed on big cockroach
It stood motionless for a minute
Holding those poisonous breathe.
The moment I stopped
It flew away.
My head started reeling
After inhaling
The powerful fumes!
I think I should learn
Something from
The modern cockroaches
They are well versed with spray
And I think they too watch T.V. and internet
Now they know how to escape.
It just left me wondered
How they manage their life so beautifully.
Though tiny but they do teach us a lot!
After all they have their own techniques to survive in this modern world!

Yes modern cockroaches are getting more resistant to all modern-cides.....Geetha.....I think they even view all aids on TV on insecticide and chalk out plan how to fight and survive......your two lines impressed me most as It seemed that I am their guest in my house. Made me run after them here and there........feelings very well expressed.
Cockroaches are in a tin- ' universe' the fearful lots but they do spread breathing problem we all are suffocating and this suffocation is felt by or poetess suffered with and brought to the notice to all..lovely thank for share
Cockroaches are a real menace! Not only they but all the bugs and pests have become increasingly resistant to pest killers! Survival of the fittest.....! As I feel so annoyed at them, if I see one in my kitchen, at once I trace it out and somehow destroy it! You have described them in a real humorous way Geetha!
We human have encroached on animal habitat while insects like cockroaches encroach our dwellings. Tit for tat the animal world would say if they had a tongue to speak! A nice poem.
I am afraid of this scary insect. My gosh! If I see cockroach I leave that place.Geetha, you are excellent in each and every topic.Loved.
I have read somewhere that cockroaches saw the ice age and they were on the earth with the dinosaurs and the writer suggested to prepare a soup of cockroaches for a longer life. I don't know how much he is right. But Geetha is always right. The modern drainage and gutter system is responsible for it.
Lol! I think cockroaches have developed better immunity than us. They seem to be God's chosen people for twenty first century. And why not? The way humans are behaving they are bound to loose the title! Thank you for this witty write and thank you so much for your comments. Appreciate it very much.
nowadays every thing is changing.i think all creatures are very well adapted to pesticides also.... nd I think they too watch T.V. and internet...............its true................nice work

I would like to translate this poem
Cockroaches and viruses know how to adapt themselves. New roach killers and antibiotics are continuously needed no one knows how far one can pursue. The travails are beautifully described. Thank you.
