Glint Of Spring? Poem by Fay Slimm

Glint Of Spring?

Rating: 5.0

I saw today a glint of
................. springtime green,
Gleaming quietly
......... aside a stream,
............................. new leaves
Uncurling early show
........ which, in appeal
....................to winter's needs
For going slow,
..............make believe
................begin-again is here.
That turn of the year
...............................has turned.

Absurd as it seems,
................................I now fear
That winter thinks
.................itself spring,
..................... and has sprung.

Glistening with new,
..................... but which sings
Too soon spring's song.

Autumn leaves are falling, winters days are calling the Indian summer could not last, it felt the chill of winters blast dark cold nights with frosty sheen longing for a leaf of green

This is so clever and endearing. I think even late summertime already supposed itself to be Fall! (smile)
