Mask Of Adulthood Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Mask Of Adulthood

Watching through a filtered sight, seeing some as children
although they're now adults, their inner child mischievously
peeking out from behind the mask of adulthood.

Looking innocent in spite of the life experiences and situa-
tions they've been through, a little shy smile on a face,
knowing the adult is being put aside for a short while.

Allowing the inner child to come out and be childish and
naughty once again for just a while before the end of life
takes over.
