Then, I squandered my earnings.
Then, I wasted time.
Then, I paid no heed to my parents' warnings,
Then, I was a carefree soul.
Now, I am penniless, wandering in the streets,
Now, I wish I had my happy, old days back.
Now, I wish that I had listened to my parents.
Now, I carry a heavy burden.
I learned, the hard way, too late,
That time comes and goes.
One could either use it wisely,
Or waste it.
I chose to waste it.
However, let that not happen to you.
nice work....and again true....dear Cassandra! thanx for sharing
A poem of fathomless depth from a young poet. The note is so sweet! The title is typical. A stark message through sweetness.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
