Each day brings to them a new challenge to face

We all have our personal battles in life
And our moments of self doubt and inner strife
The happiest person that you met today
Not always so happy life is not this way

We read about glorious battles and of brave soldiers the balladeer sing
But few ever venture to tell us that war never solves anything
Just look at those war ravaged cities reduced to rubble where the big bombs fell
Some of the survivors with horrific injuries these poor people have been through hell.

In poor suburbs and refugee camps from here far away
The battles of survival go on every day
Where poverty and hunger gives rise to worry and stress
And just to survive is seen as success
