We scamper around like timid little mouses
If we can't pay our taxes we will lose our land or our houses,
We hide and we fret when it is time to pay those taxes
A working man must always worry, and a rich man he just relaxes.

Don't give them our tax dollars any more,
We the taxpayers need it more than they do
For a large refund we taxpayers are long overdue.

Them seeing or knowing me I have a lot,
So, I don't mind them paying less and I pay a bit more
And towards them there is no hatred and I am not sore.

The government says that they must raise my tax
From their debt and worries they want to relax,
The politicians say they need their income to increase
While my way of living and income will then decrease,
