Welcome to my city
I grew up here
I still look back with pity
At that young kid with eyes of fear
...
I remember the day
Just a few years back
When I stood in that phone booth on the way
To freedom and the money stack
...
I can see what you've written
On the wall beyond the fog
Separating me from the edifice
Of fame that eluded me for too long
...
Welcome To My City
Welcome to my city
I grew up here
I still look back with pity
At that young kid with eyes of fear
The head people here back then
They made no exceptions
For wealth, height, or anyone smitten
I spent what must have been years in detentions
I've worked in this place
For several years now
I've seen many a face
Many sheep and wolves who asked me how
This place is not so bad or dangerous
It's not some frenzy of promiscuity
We're training our citizens to be cautious
Of what's out there and who has no pity
This is my city and it's still working
I went from boy to adult here
We have new adults in the making
They just might go to work without any fear
