The Yesterday After We Met

Yesterday it was, when we first met
Yesters' days have queued into the past
As our todays move cautiously
Like the eyes watching a toddler step
Fast, then slow
Slow and fast
So how did it come to be?

A suspect's suspense
On attractions distraction
So could destiny-trojan-gift me this present?
Insinuations,
The what-ifs,
Their substances and this very essence.

I searched your eyes
And found nothing but innocence
I searched again,
And there it was,
Guilt.
Therelies, the half lies that bear our half truths
Those that make us whole
Showing to us how much human we still are
And that we still have got souls.

You lust me into love
And you lost me in love
So much that now I see beyond your cleavage
Straight into your heart, naked
With love visions like x-rays.
That now, I see your secret
The one,
That coats your innocence with guilt
The truth, from which your suspect persona was built

I see the nakedness of my heart in yours
Already as it bores,
The way I see and think
The obvious,
As it is about to be
And the realization stings
That I can't explain
Why that yesterday, after we met

I bought this ring.
