Adeosun Pelumi Poems

Prowling like a cat
Stalking a prey
And moving stealthily
With arms outstretched.
...

Dreamless life;
Bleak as the dreariest night
Encloaked in illusions
Woven to be believed
...

Night fell,
Grim and desolate,
And the cloudy sky
Spilled forth not a single tear
...

The gentle sigh of the night
Lured me to sleep
As i left behind the whispers
Echoing through the voidness
...

Ill fated dusk;
When the moon shines above
And the glittery stars twinkled to life,
The dark and its minions rode.
...

I saw you;
Scythe in hand,
Hollow eyes shining darkly
With myriad of gloom
...

Myriad of swirling emotions,
Deep misty voices,
Silently mumuring,
Cold touch of neglect
...

The Murder Of Mother Hen

Prowling like a cat
Stalking a prey
And moving stealthily
With arms outstretched.

A battle of claws and hands ensued
As the prey met her waterloo.

The innocent
Was brought to justice
And sentenced
To death by slaughtering.

Eyes blurred and bleary,
Perhaps, she shed a tear,
As she gave in to her fate.

Gasping for a final breath
As the knife kissed her neck
And with a swift motion
The neck was severed from her body.

Lying lifeless;
Still as a stagnant water;
Undisturbed,
With not even a ripple.

She faced the butcher's knife
Even while in death
As each limbs took their leave
Of her body, unbidden
And she was washed,
Cooked and spiced,
A sweet aroma
Emanated from her.

Savouring the taste of her flesh,
Knowing she won't be missed
Nor would she be avenged,
As she was laid to rest
In the stomach of her murderer
