Race Of A Life Time

On our mark
We had in readiness set
just for us to go

And at the sudden blast
Of our referee's whistle,
Everyone anxiously dashed out to race

Barely had we begun,
Through half way of the track
Than my legs began to ache

With his waggling eyes wide open
our refree refused to stop
What turns out to be a race of our life time

As others like antelopes ran
As others like horses ran
Alas! like frog I limped

For fast and far ahead of me they've gone
But who says that the tortoise has got no hope
When in his heavy humpy shell he daily carry along
Dwells his hope of a brighter and blissful future
