Forgive And Forget

It's hard to confess I haven't forgiven or forgotten
I wish I could say I've at least done one
But these shackles are constant reminders
Of what was and wasn't done

How dare you push me into forgiving!
It's easier said than done
Why don't you try what I am doing?
Oh yeah, you'd scream and run

I don't know what I'm waiting for
I have the opportunity
It may be because
I don't have the audacity

One day these shackles will be broken
I just might be free
But until then,
I will live in my defective reverie..
