I Wish They Knew

Life and time, together hand in hand.
Given the time, our lives will be utterly different from then.
Given the time, relationships tore apart without thinking.
Because as time flows by like the river out to the sea
So does life, passing by like the people you once knew.

People say, life is cruel as they bring down the best in us.
Life is shattering as they take away those we've loved.
Life is terrifying as we don't know what the future holds.
Thus, have you ever wondered, ever thought
Wishing you knew, how are they now?
The people who we're there for you and now not at all
The people who you spent the time to be with

What else to speak about?
How promises that were once kept are now easily broken.
How the words seems so sweet coming out of their mouth,
How the smiles they gave seem so sincere during then,
But nevertheless bonds are so easily broken and lies are so easily made
What's the use of all of it? Why does it come to this in life?
What's the reason of us overflowing our thoughts?
What's the reason of this suffering about the past?

What else to speak about?
I remembered, the blazing sunset. Do you remember?
Time was so precious during then, those treasured moments,
I remembered the sound of our laughter, the endless cries
But it seemed to fade away soon after,
You left and never came back to think of me anymore.
And I knew then that life wasn't what it seemed after all.

What else to speak about?
The picture of you and me, on the bench in your garden,
The fragant smell of the flowers in your garden,
The warm breeze of the evening air
The feeling of the grass tickling through our feet,
Is now just a mere photo in album and is never seen again,

As the tears glides down my face, the salty taste of my tears seeps in
The tears drip and drop, everytime the feelings appears,
I wished the time didn't have to go by with a blink of an eye
I wished my life could be the same, I wished our life could be the same
I wished you could feel how I feel, and see how I am
But that didn't bring me down, the memory of you and me.

The pulse of my beating heart races when I think of the past,
The fear of losing another and the fear to endure it alone,
While looking up to the roaring sky, I believe life wasn't cruel at all
Life was merely providing an obstacle for a better
Time gave me the realization that there are things that had to come and go
Time gave me the strength to prove myself to be better
Time gave me the strength to pull through

So I wish you knew how I was only thinking of you when you weren't
So I wish you knew that I moved on to put the hardship behind.
So I wish you knew that I have to leave the regret behind.
Because in the end, you've never tried to find me while I did.
