I said, 'Good morning' to the moon,
But it went straight to sleep.
Screamed at the top of my lungs,
Only made my own ears bleed.
...

It's going to be a rough day.
One where you could descend into decay.
But do not wither.
It's just a funeral.
...

Apple of my eye,
How d'ya like your pie?
Crumbled like the rest,
Under your oh-so-clever jests?

I Said Good Morning To The Moon...

I said, 'Good morning' to the moon,
But it went straight to sleep.
Screamed at the top of my lungs,
Only made my own ears bleed.
Got tired and fell asleep,
After a daydream wore me out.
Got so sad that nobody called,
That I shut the phone power down.
Missed out on the day's fate,
Checking my horoscope.
I tried to pick me up by my bootstraps,
But the damn things are so old, they broke.
Finally, an opportunity came my way,
But so did another and I couldn't decide.
Then I used up all the thoughts I had left,
Thinking I have no good ideas inside.
Soon it was dark and the moon returned,
And I said, 'We can be friends if you like',
It said, 'Sure' but I don't think it meant it,
Because the next thing the moon said was,
'Goodnight.'
