Life Happened

</>I’ll keep my tears inside egg shells
Hoping it merges with the yolk within
I’ll keep my memories with the winds
In hope of dispersal
I’ll tie up desires for you
With the truth
The pit has no belly
So we can’t hope for a bosom
Not often do feelings of this kind emerge
When they die, we dirge
I’ll fill the ears of friends with tales
I’ll taste their hope and say it’s stale
I’ll think of eves
And I’ll think of thieves
I’ll touch my chest and feel it bare
Without the heart, such pain I bear
I’ll think of eves
And I’ll think of leaves
Always deserting the tree
Abandoning dreams
I’ll desert the mirror
Imaginations do enough
I am looking grim for sure
I’ll think of you
And then find me again at the shores
The journey ended
The ship has been submerged
